Tim King - Musical Director
Tim studied music at Oxford Brookes University and gained his post-graduate degree at Bath Spa University. He is an experienced choral conductor and performer, with the ability to cross between classical, gospel, musical theatre and other popular styles. He is founder and choral director of Vocal Works Gospel Choir - with whom he tours regularly and has recordered several albums. Tim's theatre credits include the national tour of The Brownings (with Anton Rogers), Seussical and Hot Mikdao (The Tobacco Factory), The Witches of Eastwick and Hair (Academy Theatre), and has accompanied West End actors including Sarah Lane, Neil Ditt, Chris Killik and Adam Hepkin. Teaching credits include Bristol Academy of Performing Arts, Tracy King Theatre School and City of Bath College.
Rob Hickmore - Head of Singing
Rob studied voice and performance at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. After graduating in 1998 he performed on the national tour of Some Enchanted Evening and at a variety of corporate events. He trained under Richard Alda, a master technician of Bel Canto. As well as this classical foundation he also studied the modern and scientific Estill model which is used in musical theatre and pop. Rob teaches on the Musical Theatre Degree course at the Arts Educational School London where he works with many students that go on to perform in the West End and on national and international tours.
TUTORS
Dan Winter - Head of Acting
Dan trained at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. He has taught and led workshops in drama schools and universities - specialising in Shakespeare, voice, presentation skills and stage combat. The bulk of his work as an actor has been classical theatre with companies such as the National Theatre, Bristol Old Vic, and Shakespeare at the Tobacco Factory. Recent stage work includes Comedy of Errors, Henry V, Uncle Vanya, Julius Caesar, Anthony & Cleopatra, and A Doll's House. In addition to stage work Dan has worked in television, radio and various short film projects.
Tracy King - Jazz Dance
After studying at the Italia Conti School of Performing Arts, Tracy spent a decade performing around the world as a lead singer/dancer in various shows and productions. Her time is now spent teaching the profession at Bath Academy of Musical Theatre, Bristol Academy of Performing Arts, various secondary schools and at her own commercial dance school - TK Dance. Tracy is the principal and founder of the Tracy King Theatre School. She has choregraphed many shows over the years including the highly acclaimed run of Hot Mikado at The Tabacco Factory (Bristol). She is lead vocalist and choreographer for the Vocal Works Gospel Choir.
Kim Jones - Ballet
Kim graduated with a BA Hons in Dance from University College Chichester - specialising in choreography. Her training continued at the London Contemporary Dance School, where she was awarded the Certificate of Higher Education. Since leaving London, Kim has taught ballet and jazz at establishments including the Bristol Academy of Performing Arts, Tracy King Theatre School and for her own company K4Kim Dance. Her choregraphy has been performed at dance festivals throughout the South West, and her students regularly present original pieces for Dance Umbrella in Bath, and the U.Dance showcases at The Egg (Bath).
